A team led by first-chair trial attorney DeWayne Terry, along with Ramon Crego and Gabriela Matos, successfully secured a favorable verdict in a six-day trial in Miami-Dade County. The case involved a plaintiff who slipped on a partially eaten hot dog in a mall, resulting in significant injuries that required knee and back surgeries, with medical expenses totaling $277,000. Despite a pre-trial settlement offer of only $75,000 from the defendants, the jury ruled in favor of the plaintiff.
Senior Partner Anthony Soto emphasized the importance of the verdict, stating it reinforces the duty of property owners and maintenance companies to maintain safe public spaces.
